Stovetop calzone recipe – ready in about 10 minutes, this sandwich pizza is very, very good! I usually prepare this for lunch, swapping the filling as needed. Sometimes meat, sometimes veggies, it depends on the mood and feel of the day. The filmed recipe is pizza inspired, as I made it for my son. I hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think! Here is how you make it:
Ingredients:
For the batter (1 calzone):
4 tbs flour
1 tbs baking powder
1/3 cup of water
salt
dry oregano
garlic powder
For the filling, I used:
zero sugar ketchup
dairy free cheese
chives
meat with garlic flavoring
little bit of butter or oil to grease the pan
Method:
Prepare first the fillings, to have them at hand, as the pie cooks really fast.
Prepare the batter: first add all the dry ingredients and then sir in the water, to create the same consistancy as the video.
Grease a pan (mine is 20 cm) with butter or oil (very small amount), one heated spread the batter evenly in the pan and let bubble up for about 2 – 3 minutes. Then spread all your desired fillings on one half and fold the calzone. Let fry up on both sides for a couple of minutes more. Enjoy with some extra sauce or a salad! A great lunch idea on the go!
